Choir

🎶 YOU ARE WELCOME TO SING IN THE CHOIR! 🎶

Anyone can sing in the choir whether you are Orthodox or not. You learn faster by listening from someone next to you. Come join us. You don’t have to sing every week. Please also feel free to sing anyway even if not in the choir area.

Standing Invitation:  For anyone interested in learning how to sing or choir direct please see Mtk. Patty. If interested a good tutorial and place to start is the 8 vesperal tones and 8 Resurrectional tones. I highly recommend practicing these tones at home. These tones are available at www.oca.org.

A word on rehearsals.  Matushka Patty is available to go over any music towards the end of Coffee Hour around 12:30-12:45 timeframe or as requested.

When you sing: Be attentive, listen to each other, and stand relatively close to each other so you can hear each other sing.  Try to sing from your chest rather than your nasal cavity. Try to accentuate the vowels of the music piece. Watch music notes and dynamics. Try to hear the chords and each other.

Greeters & Readers

CHURCH GREETERS: Please let Fr. Paul know if you can be a church greeter, altar server or reader. Before the beginning of the service Greeters orient the visitors to the service, ask the visitors to stay for coffee hour and obtain email information.

CHURCH READERS: Men, women, boys or girls can be readers. Deacon Demetrius (Jeff) has practice set for Saturdays at 3:00 pm for anyone interested in reading. Contact Deacon D at autisticfamily@yahoo.com for interest.
