Firewood Ministry
The AGOC Brotherhood is happy to announce the opening of the AGOC Firewood Ministry. This is to provide firewood for those in the community who heat with wood and may not have the means to provide it for themselves. Cut wood is currently being donated to us from a tree cutting service; we will be splitting and stacking the wood on the Church property.
The first workday was Friday, 22 May at 0800. We took a break to attend the Matins service and get back to it directly afterward. The next tentative dates are June 12 and/or 13 (Friday and Saturday). A hydraulic log splitter will be on site. Other tools that will be needed are a chainsaw, manual splitting mauls, gloves, earplugs, and strong backs!
Chris Van Allsburg is the primary point of contact for anyone interested in assisting with this ministry; Mike Elhenicky will be the secondary point of contact. Thanks in advance for your interest; winter will be here before we know it!
Construction is underway for AGOC’s new Bookstore! Located in the corner of the basement next to dishwashing station, we will offer books, specialty items and handmade crafts for sale. See Jackson (Nectarios) or Dillon (Solomon) for information.
